Lightning and Thunder
In the night, there’s lightning and thunder;
so, the covers I go under.
The noise and light
interrupt the night
Of sleep and restoring slumber
I am told I need.
Flashes of powerful light
illuminate the night
And fill me with dread,
thus, I try to get lower in my bed.
I can hear the rainfall,
that’s a blessing for us all.
Now, I say to myself to remind me,
“The rain is falling all life can be.”
There’s nothing to fear
God holds me dear.
I can return to my slumber
and not be worried by the lightning and thunder.
